OCTOBER MONTHLY ROUND-UP!

Hi my loves!

How fast did October go?! It seemed to fly by and I can’t believe it’s nearly Christmas! It always feels like Christmas to me when the clocks change and the days are shorter! Anyways, how was your month? In this blogpost, I’ll be talking to you about my month, I’ll talk stats and give you a mini haul and talk to you generally about how October went for me!

PRODUCTS I HAVE BEEN LOVING:

  • Ali Express Rose Gold Diamond Pen:

I recently ordered a few stationery bits and bobs from Ali Express because it’s so cheap and honestly speaking, literally everything that I got was such high quality and I will definitely be ordering some more stationery from there! I had seen a similar pen to this in Paperchase for £8 which is just insane to me but I really liked it so I was so happy that I saw this dupe on Ali Express but oh my gosh, it is the best thing ever. It was 97p, it looks so much more expensive and the best thing is that it writes so good! I highly recommend this and I want to order it in gold and silver too!

  • Notebook from Poundworld

There are three things that draw me to a notebook, one – if it is thick, two – if it has dividers and three – if it is pretty. This notebook from Poundworld ticks two out of three boxes and I immediately was drawn to it. It came in different colours, all with a different quote but this was my favourite. It’s made of a fabric material and it’s beautiful. It was £2, despite being from Poundworld but it was worth it!

FAVOURITE SONGS:

Some of these are old, some are new but these are basically what I have been listening to this month! I heard Havana when The Cutkelvins sang it on The X Factor and I really liked it!

  • Pray – Bebe Rexha
  • Introduction -Jax Jones ft. Demi Lovato
  • Nobody Does It Like You – Selena Gomez
  • I Do What I Love – Ellie Goulding
  • Havana – Camila Cabello

MOVIES THAT I WATCHED:

I’ve had a bit of a movie month in October, maybe it was because I opened a Netflix account but I’ve basically watched a lot. So my favourite was definitely White Chicks, *cue the gasps* I know, this ICONIC movie came out years ago and I just watched it now, I don’t know why I waited so long, I really enjoyed it. I also watched the Netflix original movie Naked which was okay and I watched a few horror movies too. If you have any movie recommendations then leave them down below! I’ll list the movies I watched and give them a star rating based on my opinion too!

  • White Chicks ★★★★★
  • Naked ★★★
  • The Visit ★★★★
  • Now You See Me ★★★
  • Hush ★★★
  • Bride Wars ★★★★
  • Finders Keepers ★★★
  • It ★★★★

BITS THAT I HAVE PICKED UP THROUGHOUT THE MONTH: (Mini Haul)

  • HOMEWARE:

I finally got my hands on this copper basket from Primark which I have been wanting for ages but somehow my local Primark never seemed to have any so I was so happy when I popped into Primark and they had ONE left on the shelf so I grabbed it and I love it!

I also picked up this Copper Wire Grid for my room from Matalan and I’m so in love with it, I’ve been after one like this for ages and when I saw it at Matalan, I had to grab it. It has a little pull out section which is so handy to store loose papers! It came with these quotes already on it but I am planning on changing them up! I also picked up this ‘R’ Coaster from Matalan too, I literally had my eye on this since the moment I walked into Matalan to go give my application and I finally got it and I obviously got employee discount on both these items yay.

  • STATIONERY:

In addition to the book I got from Poundworld and the pen I bought from Ali Express, I also bought some revision cards to aid my notes from Wilkinson’s. If you have read My Bullet Journal Supplies blogpost, you would’ve seen that I have purchased the Zebra Mildliners from Amazon and various washi tapes, along with some pens from Ali Express this month. You can read that post for more details about them, along with swatches!

  • RANDOM:

I picked up a few random bits throughout this month. I bought some standard black ballet flat shoes from Primark, just to wear to work and I also picked up some L’oreal Micellar Water and some cotton pads, seeing as though I had ran out of my Garnier one! I also bought a Phone Case off eBay and I love it because I had wanted a glossy case for ages now!

And I saved the best for last! Despite the untimely demise of my beautiful gold laptop that I only bought last year, that stopped working for no apparent reason, damn you Asus (as you can tell, I’m still quite salty about this), I bought a MacBook Air as a replacement and I love it! I used to always write my blogposts on my iMac but I find having that portable element of the MacBook is so much better as I can write my posts whilst I’m comfortable in bed or on the sofa! I love it so much and to go with it, I also purchased this marble case from Amazon and I love it and I’m so grateful for it!

SOCIAL MEDIA STATISTICS:

I monitored my social media platforms again this month, noting down the followers I had at the beginning of the month and I set goals for what I would ideally want at the end of the month and I’m going to see if I’ve met the goals or not!

INSTAGRAM:

  • As of 1st October: 4426
  • My Goal: 5000 ( I put this goal down as ‘possible’)
  • As of 31st October: 5036

Ah Instagram, I’m constantly gaining new followers but I’m also getting a ton of unfollowers at the same time, it’s so hard to keep up with! I was on 4992 when I went to work, looked later and I had gained 20 followers but I was on 4994! Then after a few more hours, lingering around 5000, I finally hit it!

TWITTER:

  • As of 5th 1st October: 1889
  • My Goal: 2200 I put this down as ‘realistic’)
  • As of 31st October: 2282

So I did reach my goal, the thing with Twitter is, there’s no real way to promote yourself so it’s hard gaining a following but I love that my twitter account is growing and I’ll happily appreciate the slow but steady growth I have going on!

WORDPRESS:

  • As of 1st October: 1122
  • My Goal: 1500 (I put this as ‘maybe’)
  • As of 31st October: 1582

I am beyond happy with the following on my blog, I have actual email subscribers too which I track through MailChimp and it beats me why anyone would actually want to see my posts pop up in their inbox but I am so happy they do! Thank you everyone!

FACEBOOK:

  • As of 1st October: 49 likes
  • My Goal: 100 (I put this as ‘reaching’)
  • As of 31st October: 132

I somehow managed to gain more likes than expected on my Facebook page, I’m hardly active on my Facebook but I’m super happy that people are liking my blog and the Facebook page related to it!

MY MONTH IN GENERAL:

October has been a very pleasant albeit busy month for me. Looking at my mood tracker in my bullet journal, I have hardly had any bad days which is great. I’ve had loads of tiring days though. Uni and work have been somewhat difficult to balance out but I think I’ve done it to the best of my ability and quite frankly, I enjoy having things to do although I think I’d be a huge mess if it wasn’t for my journals and lists keeping me organised! My sister had a beautiful baby boy this month and The Apprentice aka my favourite show started this month too!

  1. My husband and I almost purchased an Asus computer from Best Buy some years back, then I looked on the internet at comments about it and a lot of them were not good especially with the hard drive and not very good customer service, but that was a few years back. Not sure how it is now.

    1. I didn’t really have any problems with it except for the fact my memory ran out extremely fast but I bought a hard drive so that was solved and then it randomly just wouldn’t start, it was annoying because I’d had it for such a short time period and I even though I took it to get fixed, they couldn’t work out what was wrong with it!

      1. That’s so awesome :D. I’m currently just an “Honorary Uncle” to a best friend’s son and I’m still getting the hang of that after nearly three years. I’m sure the novelty wears off but I’ll still always do anything for this cool little dude.

  2. Hi! Nice post. What a pity to hear that your Asus didn’t work as you had expected. I have one that despite the fact is quite old is doing really well. However, it is undeniable true that Apple is one of the strongest IT brands that I know. Best regards!

  3. I love copper stuff too! We’ve got a lovely copper kettle that we picked up from an antique shop in Lyme Regis so we’re looking to add to that. We’ve also got a nice copper and brass jug from a local charity shop that’s really cute.

Congratulations on the birth of your nephew! My sister in law had a baby boy this month too – I’m was so excited to become an auntie for the first time!
