MY BULLET JOURNAL SUPPLIES!

Hi everyone!

Today I am going to be sharing with you the supplies I’ve bought for my Bullet Journal. I’ve recently taken up Bullet Journalling after deliberating for MONTHS! I always thought I wasn’t creative enough to start one because I would always see the nicest spreads on Pinterest and Instagram which would make me not want to do it but I tweeted about wanting to start one but not feeling creative enough and quite a few people replied, telling me to go for it! Many of them said that you do not need to be creative at all because the whole point of the Bu-Jo is to make a personalised planner for yourself, you can read more about the whole concept of a Bullet Journal here.

I started off by watching so many YouTube videos of people setting up their new Bu-Jo and I already had a Pinterest board dedicated to Journalling so I already had an idea of how I wanted to set mine out. I want to talk to you about how I set it up and planning it all beforehand but that’s a whole other blogpost! Based on the videos and posts I’d seen, I had a rough idea of the supplies I would need, lucky for me, I just so happen to be a stationery addict so I had most things at home but there was quite a few things that every person that owns a Bu-Jo has that I just needed – I’m still in the process of getting most of them!

Dotted Journal

Let’s start off with the main thing, I know everyone uses a Moleskine or a Leuchtturm but they are awfully expensive and my main thought was – what if I don’t really like Bullet Journalling? It’s not really worth paying £20 for something that I might not even end up using. So after scouring online for ages, I decided the best alternative was the WHSmith Moderno Grey Soft Cover A5 Dotted Notebook as it wasn’t too pricey and it’s really thick and the pages are such good quality. My tip for shopping at WHSmith is order everything online and get it delivered to store for free because for some reason everything is cheaper online. I have added in the poorly-made dividers myself because I just needed something to separate sections but I didn’t want to use sticky tabs because they’re not strong enough so I cut these dividers out of card and stuck them in for the time being till I get inserts or something along those lines.

Essentials

These were basically the essentials for me, things that I use each time I journal. These were all things I had already, pretty basic things that I’m sure most people have: pencil, ruler, sharpener, rubber, GLUE (literally the biggest essential), scissors and sellotape!

Zebra Mildliners

I wanted these anyway but I think they’re perfect for Bullet Journalling, highlighting key events and I knew I would really make use out of these! There’s a range of colours, all unique and I love them! They’re great quality and I feel every stationery addict needs these!

Pens/Colouring Supplies

I didn’t really buy any specific pens for Bullet Journalling because I already had quite a hefty collection but there were some certain things that I had my eye on that I felt I needed. I really wanted to buy brush pens but I restrained myself because they’re kind of expensive, I cannot do calligraphy and I pretty much wouldn’t make use of them.

These are basically the majority of pens that I own, mainly fineliners because those are what I enjoy writing with!

I placed an order on Ali Express and I saw these pens which were super cheap and hard to resist and I do not regret purchasing them at all! They are fine tipped and they write so smoothly and I love the range of colours, they are amazing for the price and I would definitely recommend them.

I also HAD to purchase this because this is an essential when it comes to Bullet Journalling, it’s the White Uni-ball Signo UM-153 Broad Rollerball Pen and it’s really useful in terms of journalling, covering up mistakes and writing on black pages.

I had all these different colouring supplies at home so I just put them all into one jar so that I have easy access to them all and I just use these to add a bit of colour to my journal and they’re really handy.

I also found these pastels at home and thought they’d be great to use in my journal!

Washi Tape

I love washi tape and you can find it so cheap on Ali Express! I think washi tape is an essential to spruce up your journal and I’ve seen a cool way of separating sections using washi tape so that is what I will be doing! I ordered all these for under a pound each and they are amazing quality. There were so many designs and colours to choose from and I’m slowly building up my collection! As you can probably tell, I really like blues and greens!

Planner Stickers

I just so happened to come across these in Poundworld and I was shook-eth to the core in excitement because they were a pound for four sheets of good quality planner stickers. I went in again and saw they had a different design so I had to pick them up too! They are so worth the money and they make my planner look a lot more organised! I also have decided to make the back page of my journal a sticky note section which is a good way to make use out of the different sticky notes I had writing around and it also gives me easy access to them!

So that is all the supplies I am currently using for my Bullet Journal! I am pretty new to journalling so I am experimenting with styles I like and I’m making do with things I’ve got and I know as time goes on, my collection will grow and my style will change!

      1. I just got packs of basic plastic ones, a set of small ones with different shapes and another with lettering styles. Nothing fancy (there are some expensive metal ones out there!) 🙂

    1. Awe I totally get how you feel but the best thing about making your own journal is that you have the ability to be flexible and only put in the weeks you feel like putting in! Thank you for reading 💖

  3. Hi!
Let me start by saying that those pens of the brand Bic that have four colours in one are really amazing. I do own one of those and I always carry it out with me every time, just in case. And what can I say about those Stabillos, they’re just perfect for students, I had used it as highlighters in some text books when I was in Highschool.
    Best regards!

    1. Honestly speaking, I was exactly like you, I didn’t want to start one because I thought I’d ruin it or it wouldn’t look nice enough but I’ve been planning it out in pencil and that’s been helping a lot!
