Hello everyone!

I always love reading monthly favourites blogposts but I never have enough favourites to constitute a whole blogpost to them so I decided to do something different and hopefully this will be a monthly series on my blog. I’m planning to do a monthly round-up of each month, kind of just talking you through my month, the things I’ve been loving, what I have purchased and also, I’m going to talk statistics, so I’ve been monitoring my social media sites over the month and I had set a goal for what I would like each platform to be at the end of the month and today I’m going to be checking to see if I’ve met those goals or not!

  • Superdrug Tea Tree Scrub:

I finally ventured into the whole skincare craze of tea tree oil and I see what the hype is all about, my skin has calmed down so much since I’ve been using this scrub from Superdrug, I bought it at the beginning of the month and I’ve been using it to wash my face before I go to bed every night since and it has really helped with redness and the best thing of all is that it hasn’t dried my skin out! It was around £4!

  • BIC Intensity Felt Pen 8 Pack:

I got these from Wilkinson’s on sale for £2 only and they are such good quality and I have loved using them for making notes and also for bullet journaling! Bic is definitely my favourite pen brand and they’re so reasonably priced!

I listen to all sorts of songs, mainly songs with a beat and these are a few that I have recently added to my Spotify playlist and have been listening to throughout this month! Most of them aren’t even new releases, just songs I’ve discovered and liked.

  • New Rules – Dua Lipa
  • Teeth – Lady Gaga
  • Not That Kinda Girl – Fifth Harmony
  • Paradise – Ellie Goulding
  • I Do What I Love – Ellie Goulding

BOOKS I’VE READ AND MY TBR: (Mini Review + Book Haul)

This month I’ve been reading Fever by Mary Beth Keane, I picked up this book because it is based on Typhoid Mary and we actually learnt about her in Microbiology so when I saw the book, I just knew I had to read it and I don’t know how I feel about it. The concept is brilliant, as soon as I read the blurb, I knew I had to read this book but personally, I feel that it could be written so much better, many parts were rushed and some parts that I would have expected to have more details were overlooked.

I have picked up two books this month that I am planning to read in the upcoming weeks. The first is One Fifth Avenue by Candace Bushnell and I have to admit, I did pick this up because I was attracted to the pretty cover however having read the blurb, I feel like I will probably enjoy the read. The next book I picked up is My Best Friend’s Girl by Dorothy Koomson and I got this because I read Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson and I genuinely loved it so I thought this would be well worth the read as well!

The main things I have picked up this month have been featured in my Stationery Haul so go give that a read if you haven’t already and you’d like to see what I picked up!

In addition to the Tea Tree Scrub, I also picked up the oil but I have been using this less than the scrub so I haven’t really formed an opinion on the oil yet. I also picked up this charcoal face mask from Poundland mainly because I had seen many YouTubers talk about this mask and I thought that I couldn’t go wrong as it was just for a pound! I have used it a few times and it does make my skin feel super soft but other than that, I don’t see a major difference.

I picked up these Firefly Lights from Primark for only £2.50 and I will definitely be purchasing some more because they look gorgeous and they’re so cheap and I’m in love with them. I put them around my window and they look so nice! I also picked this marble tea light holder from Primark for £2 reduced from £5 but when my friend picked it up, the lid was actually broken and she said I should use it as a pen pot which I have been using it as and oh my gosh, I think it looks great! I’ve also made use out of the lid because I’ve been using to hold my body mist on my desk and I think that looks great too!

I got this marble pencil case from New Look for £4 and I’m in love with it, the rose gold detailing is perfect as is the baby pink lining inside, it’s quite spacious and I’ve been using it for university every day since I got it! I also got the L’Oreal Paris Elvive Fibrology Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner since it was on offer and I’ve heard nothing but good things about this shampoo so I thought I would try it out! I also purchased an external hard drive for my laptop and it took me forever to format it so that it works with both my laptop and my iMac.

I also got some supplies for my Bullet Journal as I’ve decided to start one for the month of October but I thought I would do a whole blogpost dedicated to my Bullet Journal Setup and the supplies I use!

So on the 5th of September, I noted down the number of followers I had on my Instagram, Twitter and WordPress since those are the platforms I’m most active on but from next month, I think I will monitor all my social media accounts. I also set myself a goal for what I would like to have at the end of the month and I’m going to see if I’ve met those goals or not!

  • As of 5th September: 3512
  • My Goal: 4000 ( I put this goal down as ‘possible’)
  • As of 1st October: 4426

I passed the goal I set for myself by quite a few and I’m super happy about that because it’s really hard to gain a following on Instagram because everyone plays the follow then unfollow game!

  • As of 5th September: 1233
  • My Goal: 1800 ( I put this down as ‘reaching’)
  • As of 1st October: 1889

So I just surpassed my goal which is kind of surprising because Twitter is one platform where I don’t really get much following so I am quite happy that I passed the goal I set for myself!

  • As of 5th September: 759
  • My Goal: 850 (I put this as ‘realistic’)
  • As of 1st October: 1122

I was so happy when i reached 1000 followers as I was not expecting it because I’ve been really bad with posting blogposts but I am so so so grateful to everyone who follows me and anyone who’s reading this right now! I also reached 1000 likes and that was so unexpected!

September was a rollercoaster of a month but it seems like I’m at the top right now but having said that, I’ve started my second year of university which is already so intense plus I’ve started working part time and I think I’m beginning to turn into one of those people who need more hours in the day and a coffee in their hand all the time; that might be a slight exaggeration but I do feel more busy than I usually do which I suppose is a good thing. I also redid my blog theme and I actually love how it is, I’m super happy with it and I think it looks good!

Thank you so much for reading and please follow my blog for more posts like this! Also follow me on my social media sites to keep up to date with me!

      1. If I’m using as a toner I dilute with water and just tap it on the face. If I use it for spot treatment I use it raw, but only just a little bit

  1. Congratulations on hitting your goals! I actually started a bullet journal this month too. I spent a little too much time on a monthly cover – can totally tell I’m going to be addicted 😂 looking forward to reading about your bullet journaling experience!
